Natural and sustainable

The growth of merino wool depends on fresh water, clean air, plenty of sun and nutritious grass. The processing and production of merino wool is very resource-saving and therefore sustainable. The shearing process is absolutely handmade and completely painless for the sheep. By nature, merino wool, without the addition of any chemicals, offers an outstanding variety of functional properties that can help us in any situation. In this context, it should be noted that the merino fibre is even damaged by processing with chemicals. For example, bleaching agents or fabric softeners destroy the fine structure of the fibres and make them porous and brittle. The fiber therefore loses its special properties.

Merino wool is an absolutely natural raw material that grows purely organically and is completely biodegradable.

In contrast, many chemicals are used in the production of synthetic fibres, as well as nanofibres or silver. If these synthetic tissues have lost their lives, they end up in the garbage and pollute the environment. Just as with their production, a considerable amount of energy is required for disposal.

Within only 90 days, a Merino T-shirt buried in the ground is completely composted. This means that it can even be used as a garden fertilizer „at the end of its life“.
